Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued to trade lower on Thursday as investor sentiment weakened following the imposition of an additional 25% tariff by US President Donald Trump on India’s purchases of Russian oil. Persistent foreign fund outflows further pressured the market.

At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80436.72 down by -349.82 points or by -0.43 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24573.95 down by -138.1 points or by -0.56 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 80775.71 and intraday low of 80093.52 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24702.65 and intraday low of 24507.2

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2517.85,+1.22%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 321.15,+1.05%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1327.60,+0.92%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3570.00,+0.86%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3608.00,+0.42%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1456.40,-2.40%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1571.65,-1.80%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 671.25,-1.51%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3117.30,-1.23%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1511.00,-1.23%), among others.
