The Indian rupee strengthened by 13 paise to 87.80 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, supported by optimism surrounding a potential India–US trade deal.
According to forex traders, foreign fund inflows, a positive trend in domestic equities, and improved risk sentiment contributed to the local currency’s appreciation.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 87.80 per dollar, up 13 paise from its previous close.
